Rev. Dr. Larry G. Mills attended Wayne State University, University of Phoenix and Bethany
Theological Seminary. He holds undergraduate degrees in Business Management and Religious Education. He holds Master degrees in Organizational Management and Sacred Theology, as
well as a Doctorate in Sacred Theology.
He has served as Pastor of the Mt. Sinai Missionary Baptist Church for the past 21 years. The
church has seen tremendous growth in ministry as well as completion of 3 building phases which now provides a comprehensive development center, gymnasium, foreign and home outreach ministries including internet and evangelism Christian Online Networking -N- Evangelizing Coming Together (Sinai Connect), certified and state accredited school through 5th grade, free community health center, sanctuary and membership exceeding 1,500. Larry
presently serves as a Faculty Member of the
National Baptist Congress of Education, USA, INC., previously served as
National Chair for the National Baptist Congress Married Couples Division,
Director of Finance for the Florida General Baptist Association and served 8
years as Moderator for the West Coast Baptist Association. Larry’s Spiritual
Accomplishments includes him as an active Evangelist for City-Wide Revivals,
Preached/Taught in Virgin Islands, Israel, Germany, Rome Italy, Jamaica, the
Bahamas, South Africa, Egypt and Greece including the Isle of Patmos, Philippi at the Jordan River
of Europe, Athens at Mars Hill, Corinth and Turkey.
Dr. Mills served as the Corporate Vice President of Human Resources and
Business Conduct for Corporate Operations of Lockheed Martin Corporation
until his retirement in February 2007. He joined Lockheed Martin in 1984
and has accumulated numerous years of experience in human resource related
duties. His role provided leadership for all Human Resource functions, for
Facilities Operations, and EHS (Environment, Health & Safety) as well as
International Operations in England.
In the community, Dr. Mills has served and currently serves on numerous boards ranging from education, tutoring for Orange County Jail Ministry, to mentoring through his involvement in The Good News Ministry. Board member of Boy Scouts Executive Council, INROADS Executive Board of Directors, Metropolitan Orlando Urban League, and NAACP. Past Chairman of Private Industry Council of Orlando. Past member of the Orange County Citizens’ Review Board, Region III School Board District and Girl Scouts Executive Council. Past Vice-President of SCLC Greater Orlando Chapter. He has received recognition from YMCA Black Achievers, 3 Managerial and Leadership Excellence Awards from Lockheed Martin. Larry was listed twice in “Who’s Who in Black America”, in “Manchester Who’s Who Registry of Executives and Professionals” and the 2007 Alpha Phi Alpha Drum Major Award for Community Service.
Dr. Mills is the Author of the book entitled, The Recovery of God’s Purpose For The 21st Century Church and contributing writer in two professional text books, and Marriage Matters, It’s God’s Will.
He and his wife Bernice reside in Orlando, FL.
