Rev. Dr. Larry G. Mills attended Wayne State University,
University of Phoenix and Bethany Theological Seminary.
He holds undergraduate degrees in Business Management and
Religious Education. He holds Master degrees in Organizational
Management and Sacred Theology, as well as a Doctorate in
Sacred Theology.
Dr. Mills served as the Corporate Vice President of Human
Resources and Business Conduct for Corporate Operations
of Lockheed Martin Corporation until his retirement in February
2007. He joined Lockheed Martin in 1984 and has accumulated
numerous years of experience in human resource related duties.
His role provided total Human Resource functions for Facilities
Operations and EHS(Environment, Health & Safety) for
Corporate Headquarters, Shared Services and Enterprise Information
Systems. |
He has served as Pastor of the Mt. Sinai Baptist Church
for the past 19 years. The church has seen tremendous growth
in ministry as well as completion of 3 building phases which
now provides a comprehensive development center, gymnasium,
foreign and home outreach ministries, certified and state
accredited school through 3rd grade, sanctuary and membership
exceeding 1,400. Larry presently serves as Moderator for
the West Coast Baptist Association; Faculty Member of the
National Baptist Congress of Education, USA, INC. and Board
member and officer for Florida General Baptist Assoc. Larry
Spiritual Accomplishments includes him as an active Evangelist
for City-Wide Revivals, Preached/Taught in Virgin Islands,
Israel, Germany, Rome Italy, Jamaica, the Bahamas and South
Africa.
In the community, Dr. Mills has served and currently serves
on numerous boards ranging from education, tutoring for
Orange County Jail Ministry, to mentoring through his involvement
in The Good News Ministry. Board member of Boy Scouts Executive
Council, INROADS Executive Board of Directors, Metropolitan
Orlando Urban League, and NAACP. Past Chairman of Private
Industry Council of Orlando. Past member of the Orange County
Citizens’ Review Board, Region III School Board District
and Girl Scouts Executive Council. Past Vice-President of
SCLC Greater Orlando Chapter. He has received recognition
from YMCA Black Achievers, 3 Managerial and Leadership Excellence
Awards from Lockheed Martin. Larry was listed twice in “Who’s
Who in Black America”, in “Manchester Who’s Who Registry
of Executives and Professionals” and the 2007 Alpha Phi
Alpha Drum Major Award for Community Service.
Dr. Mills is the Author of the book entitled, The Recovery
of God’s Purpose For The 21st Century Church and contributing
writer in two professional text books.
He and his wife Bernice reside in Orlando, FL.

Biography
In practicing the words of Jesus Christ “go you therefore
and teach all nations,” Pastor Mills has extended his prolific
teaching to various parts of the world near and far. Some
of which include being an active and enthusiastic Evangelist
for City-Wide Revivals; Preached/Taught in Virgin Islands,
Israel, 2003/2004 German Baptist Congress and Preached
in Rome Italy, twice touring the Holy Land (Jerusalem)
with an impending trip to Africa. In our own Little Egypt
God has Blessed Pastor Mills with more than an anointed
spirit, but a “vision” as well. Six years ago Mt. Sinai
consisted of 200 members, through the teaching, guidance
and obedience of Gods word, Mt. Sinai experienced its break-through!
With a new sanctuary consisting of more then 1100 members,
a fully equipped gymnasium, and an Educational Institution
(Mills Institute for Child Development) Pastor Mills has
lead and is leading Mt. Sinai to where God will have for
us to be. Through his various workshops and seminars on
Marriage/Relationships, Leadership, Teen Outreach and Spiritual
Warfare, Pastor Mills has kept to the Vision Statement
for Mt. Sinai “To create a nurturing, caring, enthusiastic
environment that will allow people to produce unprecedented
results.”

21st Century Church
It is with great "JOY" that
our Pastor, Dr. Larry G. Mills has published his first book.
Dr. Mills transferred knowledge from his doctoral thesis
to produce the book, The Recovery Of God's Purpose for The
21st Century Church. For the
individual, the book redirects your ministry focus. As a
workshop tool for Churches, the book provides a focus for
mission, stewardship, and education ministries. This book
is an excellent tool to help those who have a desire to reinforce
their purpose in their ministry. |
The book includes a preface by Dr. Fred L. Maxwell and Dr.
J Alfred Smith, Sr. Pastor of the Allen Temple Baptist Church,
Oakland, California. Dr. Maxwell describes the book best
when he stated in the preface: "the book gives a well
documented commentary of the Church's role in the new millennium.
He reinforces the belief that the Church is more than just
a giant edifice, but it is also what is in our hearts regarding
what is right and what is wrong. Mankind today has different
problems than those faced by early Christians, but Dr. Mills
reminds us that the Bible has solutions for whatever problems
we face. When man recognizes the answer to the big question
of eternity, the little questions of life fall into prospective."
