A Summary of Our Statement of Faith

The Mt. Sinai Missionary Baptist church believes in the manifest truths revealed in the Word of God. The Bible itself is the sole and final source of all that we believe. We do believe, however, that our foregoing Statement of Faith accurately represents the teaching of the Bible, and therefore, is binding upon all our members. This Statement of Faith does not exhaust the extent of our faith.

We believe in the TRIUNE GOD: God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit: (1John 5:7) For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one. We believe that Jesus Christ was supernaturally conceived by the Holy Spirit and born to the Virgin Mary. (Matt.1:18-20) We believe that Jesus is the Son of God. (Col. 2:9) He suffered, bled, died, and was buried. He rose from the dead for our total salvation (Philippians 2:5-11). We believe that Jesus is the Way, the Truth and the Life. No one comes to the Father except through Him (John 3:36). We believe in the Holy Spirit who is God indwelling, empowering, and regenerating the believer. He is called the Comforter, and the Spirit of Truth (John 14:17, 14:26).

Core Doctrinal Beliefs

We believe in:

  • The Authority and inerrancy of the Holy Scripture
  • The Holy Trinity
  • The Deity and full humanity of Jesus
  • The Birth, death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ
  • The Sacrificial and atoning Blood of Jesus Christ; put us in right relationship with God
  • Salvation obtained by faith alone in Christ alone
  • There is spiritual lostness of the human race needing Him as Saviour
  • The Simplicity of the gospel to receive the free gift of eternal salvation – saved from eternal fire
  • The Cost/test to be a disciple of Jesus; however He gives us the power to become sons of God
  • There will be a physical return of Christ

cross A. The Word of God
We believe that both the Old and New Testaments, the full sixty-six books of the Bible are God-breathed, the complete and divine revelation of God to man. Through the providence of God, the Scriptures have been preserved. We believe that the Bible is the true inerrant, infallible Word of God, which cleanses our souls and our final authority for faith and life. The Bible shows us God’s principles and standards for living; and it is the food that sustains us in all situations and circumstances (John 1:14; 2 Tim 3:16-17; 1John 2:5-6). We believe that we are to wash and renew our minds daily by the Word of God to achieve mature, fruitful, Christian living, which removes the carnality (cuts away and cleanses) to walk and be led by the Spirit. We also believe the word of God’s precepts and principles and His implied intent do not ever change, however as Jesus used many different examples, illustrations, and parables to make it more meaningful and understandable to His audience He used culturally relevant illustrations. Therefore illustrations and phraseology may vary (when presenting) the principle and intent should never change and dilute its meaning, principle, or intent. We also believe the holy Scriptures are able to make one wise unto salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus, is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, and for instruction in righteousness. One should also study to show them self approved unto God, a workman that need not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth. (2 Tim 2:15; 2 Tim 3:15-16; John 3:6; Rom 8:1; Rom 8:6-7; Rom 12:2; Gal 5:17; Gal 5:25; Eph 4:23; Col 2:11-13).
crossB. God
We believe in the God that the Holy Scriptures present as its Author, the One and only living (Josh 3:10), true, and eternal God, Creator of the universe (Isa 45:21; Deut 6:4). We believe that even though the God of the Bible is completely outside of this physical universe (Jonah 1:9), as well as outside of time (Deut 33:27), He has been, is, and will be completely involved in human history (Heb 1:1-3) in order to bring to pass His plan for the ages (Eph 1:9,10). We believe that there is only one true and living God existing in three Persons—Father, Son, and Holy Spirit—each a distinct Person, but all of one essence and all having the same nature and each is worthy of the same confidence and obedience (Gen 1:26; Jere 10:10; Matt 3:16–17; 28:19).
crossC. God The Father
We believe the first Person of the Godhead is God the Father, and that as the Father of all creation (Isa 45:25, 26); He is interested in revealing Himself to His creation (John 17:1-3). We believe He is the Father above all fathers and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ and through His love for us gave us His only begotten Son as a sacrifice (2 Corinthians 1:3; John 3:16).
crossD. God The Son
We believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God, the only begotten by the Father, born of the virgin Mary, shed His Blood on Calvary as a vicarious substitute, was buried, rose again bodily, and ascended to the Father according to the Scriptures (Isa 7:14; Matt 1:18–25; 1 Corin 15:3; Heb 4:15). We believe God revealed Himself to His creation in not only His written word, but also about 2,000 years ago through His living Word (John 1:1-3), His Son, Jesus Christ the Lord (Heb 1:1,2). We believe that Jesus Christ is God in flesh and bones (John 14:9), and although fully Divine, was fully human during His earthly ministry, but without a sinful nature (Luke 1:35; 1 Pet 1:19; 3:18) by virtue of His virgin birth (Matt 1:18-25) as described in the Scriptures, and that He is now in heaven as our High Priest (Heb 7:25, 26) interceding for us and revealing Himself through His saints. We believe that He is the Messiah of the Old Testament, and that His purpose in coming to this planet as a man was to save sinners, reconciling them back to God, the Father (Luke 19:10; John 14:6, Matt 18:11), and give them "life, and that more abundant" (John 10:10). As well as manifested to destroy the works of the devil (1 John 3:8), overcome the world (John 16:33), and give us power over the enemy (Luke 10:19).
crossE. God The Holy Spirit
We believe that the Holy Spirit is the Third Person of the Godhead/Holy Trinity, coexistent with the Father and the Son. The Holy Spirit is the chief agent in regeneration, the chief convictor of sin, and the chief comforter of the believer. Simultaneous with regeneration, the Holy Spirit baptizes the believer into the body of Christ. (Matt 28:19; John 16:7–11; Acts 5:3–4; Rom 8:9; 1 Corin 12:12–14 Eph. 1:17-18; 5:18; Rom 12:3-8; 1 Corin 12:4-11, 28; Eph 4:7-12; 1 Corin 1:22; 13:8; 14:21-22).
crossF. Creation
We believe that the Scriptures plainly teach a literal six day creation of this present universe as written in the account in Genesis 1:1-28, and that the account is completely, and scientifically correct. On the Sabbath day God rested from His work, made Holy, however Christ let’s us know that the Sabbath was made for man, He is Lord over everyday (Ex 20:11; 16:32; John 5:16; Colossians 2:16; Mark 2:24; Mark 2:27-28).
crossG. Man
We believe that man is the direct creation of God—body, soul, and spirit—and is not in any sense the result of evolution, but is made in the image of God. Adam, the first man, sinned by disobedience. This act resulted in the fall of mankind and incurred both physical and spiritual death for all. Thus, man is totally depraved, and, of himself, utterly unable to remedy his lost condition (Gen 1:26–27; Rom 3:10, 23; 5:12; Eph 2: 1-3; 4: 17-19).We believe the virgin birth of the Second Adam (Jesus) that would make a way to have the “image” restored (1 Corin 15:45-49). By "image", we are referring to man's tri-part being: body, soul, and spirit, and that these three parts match God's Trinity of Persons (1 Thess 5:23). The spirit of man at birth since Adam’s transgression is "spiritually dead/disconnected from God" (Eph 2:1), and in need of regeneration by the new birth; that man's flesh is corrupt and cannot serve God (Rom 8:5-8); and that man's soul is tied to his sin until it is freed by spiritual circumcision (Col 2:11-13). By the human race, we mean all humans born in every corner of this planet from the time of Adam through to the end of time (Rom 3:23; 5:12, 18). By "willful disobedience" we mean that Adam knew exactly what he was doing when he disobeyed a direct order from God (1 Tim 2:14). The Soul of Man is eternal and immortal because it alone is what was made in the image of God in Genesis 1:26, 27, and 2:7. It is called the “hidden man” or the “inner man” (1 Pet 3:4; Rom 7:20-23; 2 Corin 4:16-18) and is associated with the soul (heart, will, intellect, and emotions) - not the physical body which is flesh and bones.
cross H. Hell
We believe in a literal, physical place called hell that Jesus Christ referred to more often than He did heaven. We believe that this place is a place of darkness (Matt 8:12), of unquenchable fire (Matt 3:11-12), of excruciating pain and torment (Luke 16:23-26), of continual death, and yet never being allowed to die (2 Thess 1:7- 9). We believe that hell was not created for humans, but rather for the devil and his angels (Matt 25:41), and therefore that humans will only go to hell because they deliberately choose to reject God and the finished work of Jesus Christ on the cross or believeth not (Rom 2:8, 9; John 3:18) which was the only acceptable payment to God for their forgiveness from sin. We believe that the judgment of hellfire is forever (Rev 20:14), and that there is no annihilation of the soul – Those who do not get saved or “play” church (Matt 7:22) will join the devil (their father, John 8:44) in the “lake of fire” and will be tormented with him forever and ever (Matt 25:46; Rev 14:10; Luke 16:22, 23).
crossI. Heaven
We believe that God has a reward (Matt 5:11,12) for those who are His people (Heb 12:22,23), and that that reward is composed of an eternity with Jesus Christ (the Lord above all) in a place called the New Jerusalem, more commonly known as "heaven" (Rev 21:2-27). We also believe that God The Father along with His Son Jesus (who’s at His right hand on the Throne) currently and literally reside in the third Heaven and their Spirit literally resides in the heart of His believers (Heb 8:1; 2 Corin 12:2; Eph 3:17).
crossJ. Salvation
We believe in the simplicity of the gospel to receive the free gift of eternal salvation – saved from eternal fire. Therefore we believe to receive this free gift man needs to confess with his mouth, "Jesus is Lord," and believe it in his heart “Jesus is Lord” as well as believe in his heart that God raised Him from the dead (Rom 10:9). We also believe that all men, women, and children are sinners (Rom 5:12), and that all humans who are old enough to know the difference between right and wrong (Jonah 3:11), are accountable to God for every sin that they commit and must atone for every one (Rom 6:23). We believe that man's sins do not make him a sinner, but that he sins BECAUSE he is a sinner (Rom 5:19). Man's sinful state separates him from the holy God that created him (Rom 8:7, 8), and will keep him out of heaven unless he acts to change his destiny (Luke 13:2, 3). We believe that God ordained that man's sins could not be paid for in any other way than through the sacrifice of an innocent lamb (Ex 12:5). According to God’s sovereignty, He chose Jesus Christ as the Lamb slain before the foundation of the universe (I Pet 1:19-20; Rev 13:8). There is no other possible means of salvation for fallen mankind than the sacrifice of Jesus upon the cross (Acts 4:12; I Corin 1:21-24; Heb 5:8-10; 9:12, 15). God loves man so much that He provided Christ as the way for salvation (John 3:16). This was accomplished legally since Jesus acted as a sacrificial substitute, taking on Himself the sins of men and giving to men in return the legal status of His righteousness (Isa 53:5-10; II Corin 5:21; Gal 1:4; Eph 5:2; Heb 9:28; I Pet 3:18; I John 4:10; Rev 1:5). This justification is available to all men but is only appropriated by those who have faith in Christ’s work (Mark 16:16; John 1:29; Acts 13:39; Rom 3:25-28: 4:24; II Corin 5:14, 19; II Thess 2:13; I Tim 2:6; Titus 2:11; James 2:24; I Pet 3:18; I John. 2:2).
From Adam's fall all through the Old Testament, regularly, bloody animal sacrifices were required to approach God (Heb 9:6-13). These sacrifices of the Old Testament enabled man to meet with God at a blood-sprinkled Mercy seat (Exod 25:21, 22), but required a priestly order to continually maintain the sacrificial system. This system involved sinful humans and was flawed in that it was limited to man's imperfections (Heb 9:6-9). Then, "in the fullness of time" (a united government, language, and religion of the Gentile nation), Jesus came, as "the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sins of the world" (John 1:29). We believe that Jesus Christ is THE ONLY way to get forgiveness of sins, and to go to heaven when a person dies (John 14:6). We believe that Jesus Christ paid for ALL the sins of the past (by redeeming them through His blood [Eph 1:7]), and future, by making a perfect, and eternal "once-for-all" sacrifice on the cross (Heb 10:12). We believe that a man is saved by faith alone (Eph 2:8, 9) in the finished and completed work of Jesus Christ on the cross (Col 1:20, 22), and that His blood cleanses a soul from the penalty of sin by having paid for each and every sin committed by the human race. We believe that salvation consists of three parts: Justification, Sanctification, and Glorification.
We believe to be born again is a supernatural regeneration. God gives you a new heart and a new spirit, an inward change takes place, and he is born from above - inward change is thereby wrought, "of God."  (John 1:12, 13). However salvation is an on-going process. After repentance of past sins and confession of faith (both inward and outward, receiving Jesus as Lord and Saviour) one receives immediate redemption (forgiveness, justified, put in right relationship with God, and regenerated receive new heart and new spirit), then the sanctification process begins (purification and renewing of mind), and glorification (become more and more like Christ, going from glory to glory, until final glorification state with Christ upon His return. We believe with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. The law came by Moses and grace came by Jesus Christ (Rom 10:10; Luke 13:3,5; John 1:12; 3:3; 17:17; Acts 20:21; Rom 8:29–30; Eph 2:8–9; 4:30; Titus 3:5).
Upon regeneration, one becomes a new creature (II Corin 5:17; Gal 6:15). The believer is no longer a slave to satan and sin, but is free in Christ and is indwelt by the Holy Spirit (Rom 7:5-6; 8:5-10). The believer is sanctified through an on-going process, a process in which he is set apart for service to and for God (I Pet 1:2; Ps. 4:3; II Tim 2:21). This process of growth is progressive and continues throughout the Christian’s life making him more and more like the Savior (I Corin 1:30; II Corin 7:1; Heb 6:1; 10:14; II Pet. 3:18). The salvation and sanctification of all believers will be fully achieved in a state of glorification when Christ Himself returns in glory (Rom 8:18-30; Eph 1:18). The physical resurrection of Christ is itself the guarantee of the physical resurrection of believers (Rom 8:11; I Corin 15:13-22).
crossK. The Security of the Believer
We believe that a born again believer is completely secure in Christ (John 10:27-29; 1 Pet 1:23), and that there is absolutely no way whatsoever that that person can sever their relationship with God the Father (2 Tim 2:13; 1 John 5:13; Heb 12:5-11; Eph 1:4,5) because their salvation is based upon what Jesus Christ did (1 Pet 3:18; Jude 24), and not what they did. We believe that a Christian can affect his or her "fellowship" with God by disobeying clear Biblical commandments and not confessing them and forsaking them as sin (1 John 1:8,9). We believe that salvation is not only a gift from the Lord, but also is sustained by the Lord. The Holy Spirit permanently indwells the believer and seals him in salvation for eternity. Therefore, since salvation is wholly of the Lord, apart from the works of man, we hold that the believer shall be kept by the power of God through faith unto eternal salvation. This security in no way gives professors in Christ a license to sin. It is our conviction that all who are preserved by God's eternal power should pursue holiness. If one is truly a believer justified by the blood of Christ, he will persevere and cannot lose his salvation, for God has made Him eternally secure and no man or nothing can pluck him from God’s hands if indeed Christ (not man) is his Lord and Saviour (John 5:24; 10:28; 17:11; I Corin 6:19-20; Heb 7:25; I John 5:13; John 10:28; 14:16–17, 26; Rom 6:22; 1 Corin 2:9–14; 2 Corin 7:1; Eph 1:4; 1:13; 2:8–9; 1 Peter 1:5; Jude 24–25).
crossL. Satan
We believe that the Scriptures plainly reveal a spiritual being whose sole desire is to deceive mankind (Rev 12:9; 19:20; 20:3, 8), and force them to live in the darkness, until they join the devil in his eternal judgment (Matt 25:41). We believe that Satan was originally created a perfect being. He rebelled against God. As a result, he was cast out of heaven and took a third of the angels with him. Satan has been judged and defeated at the Cross and awaits his ultimate doom at the Second Advent of Jesus Christ (Isa 14:13–14; Eze 28:13–17; John 16:11; 1 Tim 3:7; Rev 20:10). We also believe that God created an innumerable company of sinless beings known as angels; that many of these continue in their holy state and are the ministers of God; that Lucifer (now known as Satan or the Devil) and many others rebelled against God; that these fallen angels, though defeated in the cross of Christ, still continue to oppose God and His work today; and that they will ultimately be judged by God and cast into the Lake of Fire to suffer everlasting punishment, which is their righteous due.
crossM. The New Testament Church
We believe the church began with the calling out of the twelve apostles by Jesus Christ and was empowered on the day of Pentecost. We believe the local church is God's only legally living institution empowered by Him to carry out His work today. We believe the local church is composed of members who have been saved and baptized according to the command of Christ, and have voluntarily united together for the purposes of worship, fellowship, service, and observance of the ordinances of baptism and communion. We believe all true believers will be taken up at the rapture, just prior to the tribulation (Matt 16:16-18; Acts 1:15; Acts 2:41-43; Acts 11:15; Acts 20:28; I Corin 15: 51-58; Eph 1:12-14; Eph 5:25-30; I Thess 4:13-18; I Tim 3:4-15).
crossN. The Local Church
We believe that the New Testament church is a local body of baptized believers with Christ as its Head and the Holy Spirit as its guide. We believe Jesus Christ commanded every born again Christian to assemble together in local, physical, visible places (Matt 18:20; Heb 10:25) for the purpose of collective worship, preaching, teaching, baptizing new converts, evangelizing, mission work, and edification of the other for the cause of Christ (Matt 28:19,20). We believe that there are two divinely appointed offices in a church, pastors and deacons, to be filled by men whose qualifications are set forth in Titus and 1Timothy. We believe the New Testament churches promote God’s work by personal and corporate evangelism, and by cooperating with other local churches of like faith and practice for missions and many other joint efforts. The local church is governed independently from outside persons, bodies, groups, or authorities (2 Corin 9:7; Matt 28:16–20; Acts 1:6–8; 6:3; 1 Corin 16:1; 1 Corin 12:12–14; 2 Corin 5:20a; 8—10; Eph 1:3–6, 22–23; Phil 4:15–16). We believe that every Christian, as a steward of that portion of God’s wealth entrusted to him, is obligated to support his local church financially. We believe that God established the tithe as a basis for giving but that every Christian should also give other offerings sacrificially and cheerfully to the support of the Church, the relief of those in need, and the spread of the Gospel (Gen 14:20; Proverbs 3:9–10; Acts 4:34–37; 1 Corin 16:2; 2 Corin 9:6–7; Gal 6:6; Eph 4:28; 1 Tim 5:17–18; 1 John 3:17).We believe that all Christians are part of Jesus Christ's "body" (Rom 12:5; Col 1:18), which is also called "the church", but that that "body" has not assembled yet, but will, in heaven (Heb 12:22,23).
CrossO. Ordinances
We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ gave Christian churches two ordinances: —baptism and the Lord’s Supper. Believer’s Baptism (Matt 28:19-20; Acts 8:36-38), for public identification of the inward belief (symbolically) with His death, burial, and resurrection; the Lord's Supper (1Cor 11:20-34), for remembrance of what our salvation cost Him. We believe that all who have received Christ as Lord and Saviour should be baptized in the Name of the Father, the Son, and Holy Spirit (Holy Ghost); that baptism is by immersion in the likeness of the death, burial, and resurrection of Christ; and that the Lord’s Supper should be observed in remembrance of Him to show forth His death for our sins until He comes again. (Matt 26:26–30; 28:19–20; Rom 6:3–6; 1 Corin 11:23–26).
CrossP. Baptism
We believe baptism is the act of obedience to the command by Jesus Christ (Matt 28:19, 20; Acts 2:41, 42) to fully submerge a believer into water, in order to identify the believer symbolically with Christ’s death, burial, and resurrection (Rom 6:3, 4), and to testify to the world that that believer is a new creature because of salvation. Generally speaking, Believer’s Baptism, by context, means to go into and then come out of water (Matt 3:16; Mark 1:9,10; Acts 8:38,39), as in complete immersion, and by definition is the only thing that can picture a burial, whereas all other definitions (i.e. sprinkling, dipping, etc.) cannot encompass this depiction. However we do not believe the outer baptism whether by (full immersion, sprinkling, dipping, etc.) should detract or draw attention away from the attention of a soul has been won and an inner change has occurred (Luke 15:7).
CrossQ. The Lord's Supper
We believe the Lord's Supper is a sober reminder for the church, as a body of believers regularly partaking of in order to remind its members (as often as they do it) of the cost of their salvation, as well as for spiritual cleansing, that the church may keep itself pure from carnality (1 Corin 11:28-30).The Lord’s Supper is a memorial of His death also commemorative of His triumph – it serves to honor and remember what Jesus Christ accomplished on the cross. (1 Corin 11:24, 25). Only saved individuals, scripturally baptized as a profession of their faith in Christ, and living in a godly, Christian manner as members of a local church, have a right to, or can properly partake of the Communion of the Lord's Supper in our Church. This means as a believer takes the cup he says, "I recognize that the blood of Jesus Christ has been shed and that blood was a payment to God for my sin. I am trusting in the precious blood shed of Jesus Christ for me as the basis of my forgiveness and my salvation before God." To take the Lord's Supper is to express one's participation, sharing in the redemption accomplished by Jesus Christ. Therefore, someone who has not trusted in Jesus Christ for their redemption has no place at the Lord's Supper. It is an insult for someone who denies His person or work to participate in the Lord's Supper or only view as ceremonial act that the church does. To participate is to express your positional communion and fellowship with the Lord. We focus on Him and His grace, and on our sinfulness and our need of His grace, mercy, and redemptive work at the cross. When you partake of the bread and wine you are saying, "His death was for me. I am trusting Him for my eternal salvation, I am eternally grateful."
CrossR. The Sabbath Day
We believe that in the beginning the Lord blessed the Sabbath day and made it holy unto Him, Genesis 2:3; Exodus 20:11. However Jesus is Lord over everyday, including the Sabbath, and the Sabbath was made for man, not man for the Sabbath, Mark 2:27-28. Therefore to model the disciples (who came together on the first day of the week to break bread while Paul preached, Acts 20:6) and in celebration of our Lord and Saviour’s Resurrection Day (He rose on the third day, Sunday, 1st day of the week), we assemble on Sunday to preserve (make holy unto Him) and forsake not the assembling of our self, Heb 10:25; John 1:17; Matt 22:37-40; 1 Corinthians 15:4.
CrossS. Civil Authority and Jurisdiction.
We believe in freedom of worship without interference from the government and affirm our belief in civil obedience, unless the laws and regulations of civil government run contrary to the Holy Scriptures (Rom 13:1-7; 1 Peter 2:13-15). We believe that Jesus Christ established His church during His ministry on earth and that it is always a local, visible assembly of scripturally baptized believers in covenant relationship to carry out the Commission of the Lord Jesus Christ, and each church is an independent, self-governing body, and no other ecclesiastical body may exercise authority over it. We believe that Jesus Christ gave the Great Commission to the New Testament churches only, and that He promised the perpetuity of His churches (Matt 4:18-22; Matt 16:18; Matt 28:19, 20; Mark 1:14-20; John 1:35-51; Eph 3:21).
The Lord Jesus Christ said to “render to Caesar the things that are Caesar's and to God the things that are God's. We believe our decisions and actions in every life situation should be governed by first determining the appropriate jurisdiction and authority, and then ordering our behavior according to the Scriptural requirements for each jurisdiction and authority. Every person is subject to these authorities. We further believe it is the duty of believers to respect, pray for, and serve those whom God has set in authority over them (Matt 22:21; Matt 28:18; Luke 7:6–9; Rom 13:1–7; Eph 5:22–24; 1 Tim 2:1–4; Titus 3:1–2; Heb 13:17; 1 Peter 2:13–14).
CrossT. Women in Ministry
Many people look at the twelve (male) apostles (1 Corin 14:33-35; 1 Tim 2:11-12) and related verses (1 Corin 11:3; Eph 5:22-23), and they see an absolute prohibition of a ministerial role for women. However, many women were among Jesus' larger circle of disciples (Luke 8:1-3), and many women also held important positions in the early Christian Church (Acts 1:12-14, 18:24-26, 21:7-9; Rom 16:1-16). Some of the great leaders and prophets of Israel were women (Ex 15:20; Judges 4:4-5; Esther 4:15-17; Luke 2:36-38), so God could not have intended to exclude women from spiritual and political leadership. Paul's proclamation of equality (Gal 3:26-29) and Jesus' willingness to defy convention and accept women into His larger circle of disciples (Luke 8:1-3, 10:38-39) should be the guiding principles rather than the customs of the Roman Empire in the first century. Women took as large a role in the early Church leadership as was allowed by the conventions of that society (Acts 1:12-14, 18:24-26, 21:7-9; Rom 16:1-16), so women today should be able to serve in the Church in whatever positions they are qualified for. However, we do not believe women should serve in the role of pastors. Although we will license female ministers, we will not ordain them. This allows them the freedom to minister as called to do, however it honors and keeps in line with biblical principle of God’s order of creation and order as stated in the New Testament. God the Father is the head of Christ, Christ is the head of the church, man is the head of woman, and husband is the head of the wife, (1 Corin 11:3; Eph 5:23) and we believe that there are only two divinely appointed offices in a church, pastors and deacons, to be filled by men whose qualifications are set forth in Titus and 1 Timothy. Therefore when women are serving in positions in church there should be an overall male ruling authority. However we do not negate nor oppose our sister churches in that situation (female pastors and ordained ministers), but in our local autonomy we do not have that.
CrossU. The Cost/test to be a disciple of Jesus; however He gives us the power to become sons of God
We believe as stated in Matt16:24 that if any man (person) follow Him let him take up his cross. Matt 10:38 And he that taketh not his cross, and followeth after me, is not worthy of me. Luke 9:62 And Jesus said unto him, No man, having put his hand to the plough, and looking back, is fit for the kingdom of God.1 Pet 1:7 That the trial of your faith, being much more precious than of gold that perisheth, though it be tried with fire, might be found unto praise and honour and glory at the appearing of Jesus Christ. Matt 10:39 He that findeth his life shall lose it: and he that loseth his life for my sake shall find it. 1 John 2:15 Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him. John 8:31 Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on him, If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed. 2 Corin 5:17 If any man be in Christ, he is a new creature; old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new. John 1:12 But as many as received Him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on His name. Therefore we believe that there is a cost to become a disciple of Jesus Christ and that Jesus also tested them. Matt 8:18-22; The call that Jesus gave was a call to follow Him, a call to submission, a call to obedience to the will of God. It’s transformational and illustrated through priority, commitment, and allegiance to Christ first and through personal relationship, followship, empowerment, and accountability to and by Him. Also Christian discipleship is the process by which disciples grow in the Lord and become more Christ-like. We also believe as part of the great commission stated in Matt 28:19, it is our responsibility to teach them and help make disciples.
CrossV. The Priesthood of the Believer
We believe in the priesthood of all believers so that every Christian has direct access to God in prayer through Jesus Christ, our great High Priest, and that there is no mediator between God and man other than Jesus Christ (Heb 4:16; 1 Tim 2:5; Rev 1:6). We believe the priesthood  should be carried out in his home being it is a sanctified institution of the sanctioned union by God, setting the example as Christ, (Eph 5:22; Eph 5:25).
CrossW. Second Coming
We believe in the literal, visible, personal, pre–millennial, pre–tribulation return of Jesus Christ for His Church/Bride. At this event the dead in Christ and living believers will be translated to meet Him in the air. At the end of the seven year tribulation period, Christ will visibly descend with the saints/bride to establish His earthly millennial kingdom (Acts 1:11; 1 Thess 4:13–18; Rev 20:1–6).
CrossX. Seven fold Ministry
We believe in the five-fold ministry that Eph 4:11 speaks to apostles, prophets, evangelists, pastors, and teachers. We also believe in the seven-fold manifested Spirits of God reflective in ministry (Isaiah 11:1-2) to deal with the whole person; Spirit of the Lord, Spirit of Wisdom, the Spirit of Understanding, the Spirit of Counsel, the Spirit of Might, the Spirit of Knowledge and the Spirit of Reverence. 1. EVANGELISM (Evangelists/Spirit of the Lord) This ministry is to share God’s word, the gospel of Truth, and His love in practical ways that are non-pushy or non-aggressive to reach the saved and unsaved by leading them to connect with a bible-based teaching church body or just open a door to their ears so the Holy Spirit can tenderize their hearts leading to conviction. 2. HEALING (Spirit of Understanding) This ministry is to build up and strengthen those things or vessels, which are sick and dying, provide spiritual and cognitive wisdom to restore a person to spiritual wholeness and health.  3. PREACHING (Apostles, Pastors, Prophets/Spirit of Counsel) This ministry is to exhort the church body to hear God for themselves by faith and to receive the Holy Spirit. To lead them to their own personal relationship with the Holy Spirit and leading them to mind the things of the Spirit. Preaching the unadulterated Word of God, the gospel of Truth, and the doctrine pertaining to our Lord and Saviour Jesus’ birth, death, burial, and resurrection.  4. REFORM (Spirit of Might) This ministry is to demonstrate God’s power to the saved and unsaved through the prophetic preaching, teaching, and intercessory prayer to bring or lead to self-improvement in behavior or to abandon a harmful course of life or conduct and adopt a new reformed and regenerated life. 5. STEWARDSHIP (Spirit of Wisdom) This ministry is to teach the church body how to serve and be good stewards over the things of God, watch over both the vision and the Church, as well as be good stewards in their personal lives and other affairs. 6. TEACHING (Teachers/ Spirit of Knowledge) This ministry is to impart knowledge, equip, instruct, and train the church body on the precepts, principles, and doctrine of the Christian faith (to include Baptist doctrine) through the Word of God and the gospel of Truth.7. WORSHIP (Spirit of Reverence) This ministry is to break through the traditional formalities of the institutional church, to get back to the basics of giving worship to God through song, praise, prayer, service and a devotional time carved out in service to connect just with the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. Eph 4:12-13; Matt 9:35
CrossY. Spiritual Gifts
We believe in these gifts as dictated and used in scripture. Eph 4:11-13 And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers; For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ: Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ. Eph 4:16 From whom the whole body fitly joined together and compacted by that which every joint supplieth, according to the effectual working in the measure of every part, maketh increase of the body unto the edifying of itself in love. 1 Corin14:12 Even so ye, forasmuch as ye are zealous of spiritual gifts, seek that ye may excel to the edifying (strengthening/equipping/building up) of the church. 1 Corin14:26-33 (Msg) So here's what I want you to do. When you gather for worship, each one of you be prepared with something that will be useful for all: Sing a hymn, teach a lesson, tell a story, lead a prayer, provide an insight. If prayers are offered in tongues, two or three's the limit, and then only if someone is present who can interpret what you're saying. Otherwise, keep it between God and yourself. And no more than two or three speakers at a meeting, with the rest of you listening and taking it to heart. Take your turn, no one person taking over. Then each speaker gets a chance to say something special from God, and you all learn from each other. If you choose to speak, you're also responsible for how and when you speak. When we worship the right way, God doesn't stir us up into confusion; he brings us into harmony. This goes for all the churches—no exceptions. Therefore we believe that God is sovereign in the bestowal of spiritual gifts. He uniquely equips believers in the assembly for the distinct purpose of winning people to Jesus Christ and the strengthening and building up of the saints in the local church in order that they can do the work of the ministry. We are empowered by the Holy Spirit and church exists to save the lost and to edify the saved (Eph. 4:1-16). We believe there are approx. 24 spiritual gifts that Jesus exhibited during His earthly ministry and that these gifts are given by the Spirit and Christ gives the person to the church, as He sees fit. We believe spiritual gifts are for Christ’s purpose, not for self and to edify oneself but to strengthen the body in Christ and should be used in an orderly manner (Romans 12:5-8; 1 Corin 14:31. We also believe speaking in tongues is not necessarily the only sign of the baptism of the Holy Ghost or that one is filled with the Holy Spirit (1 Corin 12:10; 1 Corin 12:30; 1 Corin 14:5-6). During the time of the Pentecost as mentioned in the book of Acts, speaking in tongues were a display of the power of the Holy Ghost to speak different languages to those of different nations so they could understand the gospel being preached in their own specific language (Acts 2:44; Acts 2:11). We also believe different gifts are distributed throughout the body of Christ as God’s intent of showing us we need to work together, encouraging teamwork as He would have it (Eph 4:16). No man is an island unto himself and what good is a body without functioning parts or a part without a body. There’s room for every gift that God places you in (Prov 18:16) and when gifts are given by God they are to be used and used in a fashion to bring glory to Him and to help others out of love for Him and for them (1 Corin 13:1-4).
CrossZ. Universal Church
Jesus established one universal church (Matt 16:18) and gave the great commission to us as His disciples/ambassadors to fulfill (Matt 28:19), however it is our firm belief that what separates us denominationally are different word interpretations of the Bible and scriptural meanings, nonetheless we believe in the universal church, one Lord, one faith, and one baptism and we are unified through Him for His cause and God’s purpose. As stated in Eph 4:4-7 There is one body, and one Spirit, even as ye are called in one hope of your calling; One Lord, one faith, one baptism, One God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all.
