Our Foundation
The Healthcare Ministry was established at Mt Sinai Missionary Baptist Church in 1973 under the leadership of the late Pastor Roscoe Wade. The ministry consisted of nine members and was called the Nurse’s Guild. In 2003 under the ministry leadership of the late president, Patricia Black the ministry changed its name to the Healthcare Ministry.
Mission/Purpose
The mission of the Healthcare Ministry is to provide spiritual care and support to the members of the church in times of wellness, sickness and grief; also providing the church and community with education that focuses on health prevention
Our Charge/Calling
We utilize community outreach organizations and nursing schools within the state to organize health awareness events that are geared towards health issues affecting our community.
We institute health fairs and annual health events targeting low socioeconomic groups at risk for chronic illnesses.
We provide spiritual support to families within the church during times of grief and illness.
We collaborate with internal ministries
to provide health prevention education for Mt Sinai
members and the community.
We provide education and activities to
encourage mental, physical, and spiritual
health.
We provide community resources for the body and the community in large that are in need of healthcare resources.
We welcome all healthcare and non-healthcare person who feel the call to serve the body of Christ. We welcome members who are over the age of 14. We encourage those who love the brethren and have a mind to serve the Lord through ministry. First Aid and CPR required or will obtain within 6 months of joining ministry.
