"But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and His righteousness;
and all these things shall be added unto you" (Matthew
6:33). First, giving honor to my Lord and Savior- Jesus Christ,
Pastor Mills and his family, the entire Mt.Sinai family, my
loved-ones, and everyone else in their respective positions.
As the youth president here at Mt. Sinai, I wish to serve
each and every young child of God that is willing to learn
more about God as well as this Chrisitian walk. My goal is
to help guide young people to Jesus through personal communication,
ministries throughout the church, and fellowship. The entire
youth ministry not only focuses on Baptist Christianity, but
also on education, service, and fun. Annual events, such as
college tours, congresses/ conventions, support for the families
in the Virgin Islands, and youth outings like Wet-N-Wild and
the movie theatres are planned through our adult supervisors
of the youth council. There are currently over 100 members
of Mt. Sinai that are part of the youth ministry and abundate
are always welcome to be part of this family of youth here
at Sinai.

The Young People’s Ministry is committed to train up a child.
The ministry purpose and mission is to nurture, develop and
unite young Christians through love, teaching, evangelism
and fellowship. The ministry is to teach, train and recognize
specific needs of our children/youth to grow in spiritual
maturity.
The Young People’s Ministry is the total work of the church,
with support of parents, children/youth and other ministries.
“From whom the whole body fitly joined together and compacted
by that which every joint supplieth, according to the effectual
working in the measure of every part, maketh increase of the
body unto the edifying of itself in love.” Ephesians 4:16 |
A MINISTRY
OF TEACHING/REFORM
Charge
The primary purpose of the Young Peoples Department Ministry
is to prepare the young people for present and future spiritual
maturity. Specifically, to aid their spiritual growth and
development, enhance leadership skills, generate interest
and allow for creativity. The Young Peoples Ministry of the
church is a teaching and training program designed to train
and not entertain. The ministry also gives practical guidance
in witnessing, Bible Study, prayer life, discipline in stewardship
and evangelism.
Activites
Young People/ Youth Choir-
This choir, full of spirit-filled voices ranging from the
age 7 to 17, ministers on every 4th Sunday. Come join them
at practice on every 1st, 2nd, and 3rd Tuesday at 6:00pm.
Youth Usher Board- This ministry is perfect
for young people who have the desire to help others and with
the order of events/ services. Youth ushers help the order
of services flow smoothly by passing out church programs and
envelopes, by greeting whomever is near, and by doing whatever
they can to help those around them enjoy the services to the
best of their advantage.
Praise Dance- Dancing is FUN, but dancing
FOR THE LORD is even BETTER! Praise dance is a moderate and
graceful style of dancing. It involves gospel music ( or any
type of music LIFTING UP THE NAME OF JESUS), focused minds
and dedication, and any girls who have a passion for praising
God through dance. Practices are held in the development center
every Monday at 6:00. Following this rehearsal is Girl Scouts...
Girl Scouts is a fun ministry. Girls ages
6 to 17 get together in unity to do the Girl Scout Pledge
and the Law then they diverge in their different groups by
age variation. These groups are (from youngest to oldest girls)
Daisies, Brownies, Juniors, Cadettes, and Seniors. Girls in
this organization learn about edicit, surviving, and plenty
of interesting neccesities for girls growing up into virtuous
women. These girls also go on plenty of trips such as camping,
Water Mania, Busch Gardens, and many more. Cookies are also
sold for Girl Scouts during the early months of the year to
raise money for Girl Scout troops and dreamed vacations like
Cancun, Mexico ( which is this summer). If you are interested
in this fun filled organization, then come out right after
praise dance rehearsals at 7:00pm to 8:00pm.
